In each jurisdiction, the study adopted a multi-method comparative approach, exploring the central questions identified at the beginning of the chapter across each of the international comparisons. Each comparative study was comprised mainly of a detailed deskbased study. This was supplemented by fieldwork as well as follow up interviews over the phone and by email with service providers and advocacy bodies in each jurisdiction. The desk-based study encompassed an in-depth examination of all available literature, including the texts of national disability law and policy, government reports and reviews, media reporting, shadow reports published by disabled persons organisations, policy submissions and evaluative social policy research from academic sources.
